An update for those of you who follow Hurst L.D. Bell - wide receiver Josh Mauro just received his second offer, this one from Utah as a tight end. Mauro had previously been offered by Boise State.

L.D. Bell has 10 sign today

Only two are staying in Texas to play college football, but 10 Blue Raiders signed letters of intent this morning in the school's auditorium.

They are: Deante Piper (Northern Arizona), Anthony Owusu (Eastern New Mexico), Taniela Vake (Eastern New Mexico), Grant Milton (Angelo State), Thomas Lloyd (Fordham), KC Aharanawa (Cornell), Ken Van Heule (Houston), Atem Bol (BYU), Jordan Peppers (Alabama A&M) and Jayah Kaisamba (Georgetown).

The group each autographed a football and presented it to head coach Gary Olivo at the end of the ceremony. "I'm losing these guys," Olivo said. "But I get a football."

Two more commit

Hurst L.D. Bell had two more players commit over the weekend. Defensive lineman Jordan Peppers committed to Alabama A&M and defensive back Jayah Kaisamba picked Georgetown. -Trae Thompson

Blue Raiders commit

Hurst L.D. Bell had two commitments. Now, the Blue Raiders have eight.
Players who have committed include running back Deante Piper (Northern Arizona), wide receiver Anthony Owosu and linebacker Taniela Vake both chose Eastern New Mexico, wide receiver Grant Milton (Angelo State), defensive lineman Thomas Lloyd (Fordham) and outside linebacker KC Aharanawa (Cornell). Three more could make decisions soon, according to assistant coach Gerry Stanford. Offensive lineman Ken Van Heule (Houston) and wide receiver Atem Bol (BYU) were the school's previous commitments. -Trae Thompson

Blue Raiders staying busy

Hurst L.D. Bell has 16 players who will be making visits. Assistant coach Gerry Stanford said the only player who's committed so far is wide receiver Atem Bol (BYU). Running back Deante Piper hasn't committed, but Stanford said he has eight offers. Schools in the mix for Piper include Arkansas State, BYU, Northwestern (La.) State, Northern Arizona and Montana. -Trae Thompson
