Plus two makes eight

Trying to tally up all the area schools, and it looks like Arlington Martin is going to have eight players sign. Coach Bob Wager said linebacker Hayden Steele and wide receiver Will Jobe both committed to Southwest Oklahoma State over the weekend, giving the Warriors eight overall signees. "I'm excited about it,'' Wager said. "I don't know if we'll be maxed out at eight. But I'll tell you what, I'll take eight every year for the rest of my life. We had eight last year. We'll have eight this year." -Trae Thompson

Warriors hoping for strong finish

You'd think it was a playoff game Bob Wager was preparing for. But it's just the end of another recruiting season. "This is a big weekend for us,'' the Arlington Martin head coach said. "I think we've got a chance to get 12 (signees). We're ecstatic." Seven players have committed to Division I schools so far, and five more could decide this weekend. Wager said they've "got to like it this weekend" and admitted "everything's got to go perfect." -Trae Thompson
