Week 2 Playlist: For slow runners

The first song of any workout/running playlist should function the same way intro music does for closers in baseball. It should give you an adrenaline boost while intimidating others to the point they give up all hope -- even if they can't actually hear the song because you're wearing headphones. They'll know they can't compete. I think my first track does the job nicely. This playlist clocks in at 29.8 minutes. Perfect for a 30 minute workout. And if I play it twice, I might be able to finish that 5K. I'm slow. OK, maybe two and an half times. I'm very slow.

1. Cannon, The White Stripes
2. Rebellion, Arcade Fire
3. Evil, Interpol
4. Houses of the Holy, Led Zeppelin
5. One Big Holiday, My Morning Jacket
6. Shine a Light, Wolf Parade
7. No Regrets, The Von Bondies
8. No Feelings, The Sex Pistols
