Scouting report: Some might question whether it actually qualifies as a mascot (being an inanimate object and all), but there’s no debate that it’s impossible to think Sooners football without thinking of the Schooner barreling onto the field. One downside: Covered wagons and muddy fields don’t mix as Oklahoma learned in the 1985 Orange Bowl. The Schooner drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty when it got stuck in the mud in front of the Washington bench. But when the field is dry, this thing can really move as the video below shows.
