Dixon will start on front row for season finale

Scott Dixon had his seventh IndyCar pole of 2008 in his grasp Saturday, but final qualifier Ryan Briscoe spoiled the fun and knocked Dixon down one spot but not off the front row for Sunday's PEAK Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway. Briscoe's Penske Racing teammate Helio Castroneves, who trails Dixon by 30 points in the title chase, will have his work cut out for him Sunday. Castroneves had qualified fourth, but his run was disallowed by Indy Racing League chief steward Brian Barnhart for running below the white line "numerous times" on the 1.5-mile oval. Castroneves will instead start 28th.
