Pedregon overcomes fire to win in Funny Car

Funny Car: Tony Pedregon, who was unhurt in a fire during qualifying on Saturday, bounced back Sunday to win for the second time this season. Pedregon posted his best time of eliminations, a 4.818 at 319.75 mph in his Q Horsepower Chevy Impala to defeat Scott Kalitta, who ran a 4.957 at 308.92. Pedregon, who was the No. 10 qualifier, defeated Ashley Force in the semifinals. He is now fourth in the points standings. Tim Wilkerson leads the class standings with a 57-point edge over Force.
Top Fuel: Tony Schumacher extended his points lead by defeating Rod Fuller. Schumacher, who was the No. 1 qualifier, posted the event's fastest time, a 4.499 at 329.83 mph in his U.S. Army dragster. Schumacher, who leads Antron Brown by 190 points in the standings, defeated Doug Herbert in the semifinals.
Pro Stock: Kurt Johnson, who qualified sixth, defeated No. 1 qualifier Jeg Coughlin in the final with a pass of 6.733 seconds/205.22 mph in his AC Delco Cobalt. Johnson, who defeated his father Warren in the semifinals, moved into the points lead with the win, 36 points ahead of Coughlin.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: No. 1 qualifier Chris Rivas earned his first victory by defeating Craig Treble, 7.051 to 7.134. Rivas defeated Angelle Sampey in the semifinals.
