Keller's Wigington to sign with Southwestern volleyball

Keller’s Jill Wigington will sign with Southwestern volleyball on Thursday. Wigington will hold a signing ceremony at Keller high school with her family and coaches.
“She picked it because of the coach and the quality of the school,” said her father, John Wigington. “We’re very proud of her, she’s been playing since 7th grade.”
Wigington played outside hitter for Keller, which finished fourth in district 5-5A and lost in the first round of the playoffs. Southwestern, a division III school in Georgetown, competes in the Southern College Athletic Conference.

The next level: North Crowley's Warren, Colley, Franklin on their way

The basketball gym at North Crowley became the site of a mid-morning basketball party Thursday.

The guests of honor: Willie Warren, P.J. Colley and T.J. Franklin. The three are headed for college basketball careers. Warren and Colley had signed letters of intent with Oklahoma and Texas A&M-Commerce, respectively, last week. Franklin has been invited to walk on at Oklahoma.

"You're happy and proud for the families, and you're happy for the kids because they're good kids," said North Crowley coach Tommy Brakel. He ought to be proud himself. The three are the 28th, 29th and 30th players from his program to reach the college level, he said.

Warren is a 6-4 guard. Colley is a 6-6 guard. Franklin is a 6-foot point guard.
