Boswell coach favors 6-4A

Saginaw Boswell football coach John Abendschan couldn't be more happy with the realignment of District 6-4A, especially the additions of Aledo and Mineral Wells.

"It's a very competitive district, we lost Fossil Ridge but we added some very good football teams," Abendschan said. "The district didn't drop by any means. The four teams that make the playoffs will deserve to be there. It's going to come down to the bitter end."

Boswell will begin the season with non-district games against Wichita Falls (Week 0), Abilene Cooper (Week 1) and Alvarado (Week 2).

Lewisville ISD lights stadiums to honor coach's memory

Lewisville school officials planned to turn the lights on at Goldsmith Stadium and Neal E. Wilson Jaguar Stadium on Saturday night to honor the memory of Neal Wilson, their longtime athletic director and namesake of one of the stadiums.

Wilson, 65, died Saturday morning in Dallas of leukemia. He had begun his career as a middle school coach in Lewisville in 1965, became a head football coach at Decatur and Saginaw Boswell, and returned to be head coach at Lewisville.
