Update on spectator who fell from stands

A male specator was responsive and had movement in all his extremities after falling from the club level at Rangers Ballpark into the lower bowl.

He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Four fans in the lower bowl were injured when the fan landed on them, but they are being treated at the ballpark first-aid center and aren't being transported to the hospital.

Nelson Cruz, batting in the fifth inning, lofted a flyball into section 235 down the first-base line. The ball was hit above the fan but caromed back toward the field of play. The man reached to snag the ball, went over the railing, bounced off the ribbon panels on the lower-suites level, somersaulted forward and appeared to land on his right side.

The Rangers are estimating that he fall some 30 feet. A Rangers spokesman said more information will be shared once it is available.
