The Rangers have traded minor leaguers Evan Reed and Omar Poveda to Florida for Jorge Cantu. The infielder will join the Rangers in Anaheim and be available tomorrow.
The Rangers don't have to make a move on the 25-man roster until he reports. They will recall Brandon McCarthy and put him on the 60-day disabled list to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.
