Good news: It's not raining. Bad news: It has rained enough that the tarp is on the field. The belief, though, is that the game will start on time and be played with minimal interruption. That's good.
The Rangers will start Dustin Nippert on Wednesday after rain scrambled the rotation over the weekend. Kevin Millwood was supposed to start, but his start Friday against Seattle was postponed a day. It now appears that he won't pitch until either Sunday against the Angels or Monday at the A's as he works on some new mechanics that are designed to keep him more upright.
The Rangers remain uncertain on the time frame for Michael Young and Josh Hamilton to return. Wet conditions have kept Young from testing his sore hamstring on the field. Hamilton was set to throw today, but it was raining when he went out to test the pinched nerve in his back.
