Michael Young beat out an infield single that jump-started a six-run, two-out rally against John Lackey in the fifth inning, and the Rangers have taken a 6-3 lead. Josh Hamilton followed with his third single in three at-bats, and Andruw Jones followed with a three-run homer.
Hank Blalock then doubled, and Marlon Byrd and David Murphy walked. Blalock scored on a wild pitch to Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who then laced a two-run single to right that completed the scoring spree and ended the night for Lackey.
Bobby Abreu started the Angels' fifth with a single off Derek Holland, but he got Torii Hunter to hit into a 6-4-3 double play on the first pitch he saw. Vlad Guerrero ground out to shortstop to end the inning.

Let's see, Salty can't catch, hit or throw anybody out, Washington takes Holland, who's getting batters out, out of the game and puts in Jennings who has no idea where the strike zone is. I wonder just how much those three guys are being paid to throw this game. It wouldn't surprise me if the Rangers are seven games out by the All Star Break.
