Ball four to Josh Hamilton got away from Seattle catcher Rob Johnson, and Ian Kinsler came home from third to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Kinsler walked with two outs, went to second on a single by Michael Young and then led a double steal of second and third.
The Rangers saw the inning end when Hamilton took off to steal second and drew a throw from Johnson. Hamilton stopped and tried to get caught in a rundown, and Young was thrown out trying to get back to third base.
Tommy Hunter just pitched a 1-2-3 sixth and has issued only four hits. He might not return to the game, though, as his pitch count sits at 104. Darren O'Day is warming in the bullpen.
