Mariners strike for two in the first

Run-scoring doubles by Russell Branyan and Franklin Gutierrez have given the Mariners a quick 2-0 lead over Scott Feldman and the Rangers. Gutierrez's at-bat was extended by a pop-up that first baseman Hank Blalock couldn't reach behind the bag and in foul territory. That's a play Chris Davis might make.

For Feldman, he seems to struggle in the first inning more than any other. He has now allowed eight runs, 15 hits, and nine extra-base hits in his 15 starts.
