Eight players, not nine as was originally reported, have been either optioned or assigned to minor-league camp. The Rangers now have 51 players on the spring-training roster.
The five optioned are: Thomas Diamond, rhp (Oklahoma City); Kason Gabbard, lhp (Oklahoma City); Guillermo Moscoso, rhp (Frisco); Omar Poveda, rhp (Frisco); Jose Vallejo, 2b (Frisco).
The three assigned: Casey Daigle, rhp; Manny Pina, c; Kevin Richardson, c. Their teams have not been determined.
