Rangers add minor-league first baseman

The Rangers have acquired first baseman Joe Koshansky on a waiver claim from the Colorado Rockies. He was already in the Rockies' minor-league camp, so the Rangers optioned him to the Triple-A Oklahoma City camp.

Koshansky, who led all of minor-league baseball with 121 RBI last year, gives the RedHawks a left-handed-hitting first baseman to go along with Royce Huffman. Baseball America named Koshansky as the Rockies' top power-hitting prospect each of the past two seasons.
