Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said the following about the Tigers' pursuit of Gerald Laird: "We've been working on getting Gerald Laird all winter. We were talking about three-way deals. We throught we had a three-way deal wrapped up last week, but something fell apart."
Dombrowski said the deal with the Rangers was reached Saturday.
