Vicente Padilla spent the off day Monday in Arlington having an MRI and taking a cortisone injection for a bothersome joint near his neck that forced him to the disabled list last month. His status for his next scheduled start Thursday seems iffy. Tommy Hunter would be the starter in the series finale against Boston if Padilla can't go.
