Marlon Byrd will start in center field for two reasons: to give Josh Hamilton an easier day in right field and because has a .389 lifetime average against Twins starter Livan Hernandez. Ramon Vazquez was originally penciled in as the No. 9 hitter, but was moved up one to break up a glut of right-handed hitters.
