Base loaded with Rangers, one out in the 7th

After battling for 10 pitches Shelton drew a walk to load the bases for the Rangers. The Mariners are changing pitchers again. Lefty Arthur Rhodes will be pitching to pinch-hitter Marlon Byrd.

What is the theory on taking Vasquez out, who has been hitting great the last couple of games and is over .300 and putting Byrd in, who just got back to the team and is hitting .125. I realize that you may want the Righty batter vs. the lefty pitcher, but bases-loaded, 1 out, I want someone that has been red hot at the plate, no matter which side of the plate he is swinging from....
