Hold on a second
Plate umpire Jerry Meals has successfully angered Manny Ramirez and Milton Bradley. Each outfielder believed he had drawn a walk after 3-1 pitches, in their minds, missed the strike zone. They both tossed their bats toward the dugout and started toward first base.
But Meals signaled a strike, the batters returned to the box, and then struck out. They each gave Meals plenty of lip on the way back to the dugout, but no one was ejected.
By the way, Bradley extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a double in the sixth inning.
