The Stars are expected to announce today that they have signed center Brian Sutherby to a two-year contract extension for around $1.625 million total.
That's a huge statement about the organization's opinion on Sutherby, who was acquired from the Ducks on Dec. 14, 2008 for David McIntyre and a conditional sixth round pick in 2010.
So what does this mean for Joel Lundqvist's future with the team? Lundqvist, who has been a healthy scratch the few games, is an unrestricted free agent this summer. Did Sutherby just take Lundqvist's place?
