Hey kids,
Just a quick update from morning skate land... Ray Sawada celebrates his 24th birthday with a call-up to the big team. Chris Conner, meanwhile, is out of here for personal reasons: His wife went into labor last night, and so he's headed home to be there for the birth of their child. Methinks he'll probably stick around home for a bit, play a few games in Peoria, then come back up to the Dallas Stars when all is well and settled.
Be back to opine in a bit.

Hope all goes well for the Conner family. Have thought Conner has been playing well. Don't know Ray. Does have some size. The injury situations make for interesting hockey.

See Tracey, this is why I love reading your blog. I was just sitting here wondering why they would call up Conner to just send him back down and call up Sawada. And you are the only one who gives me the answer! Congrats to the Conner family and keep up the good work, Tracey.

Thanks Tracey! Any idea if Sawada is playing tonight?

Juan,
This is just my guess, but I think Sawada is out for this evening. He wasn't skating with the boys at the optional skate, so methinks he needs a day or two with the Stars before any playing possibilities.
