Happy early New Year

I'm throwing that in the headline because there wasn't much else to chat about at morning skate. All the available boys were skating this morning, and as of today it looks like the Stars will not be calling up anyone. With the Edmonton-Vancouver trip coming up, however, Chris Conner will probably be brought up.

Otherwise, just a little chit-chat with some of the boys about the upcoming New Year's Eve game: longtime tradition, although it hasn't been very successful lately. Lost 1-0 to Nashville last season, and I don't think the previous year's game against San Jose was very pretty. So maybe they get back to the good NYE outings tonight.

The Devils won in St. Louis last night and did not skate this morning. Scott Clemmensen got the victory in goal; now he gave up three goals, so I'm wondering if Kevin Weekes, who hasn't played since Dec. 13, gets the start. We'll see in a few hours.
