The Devils keep control, get a few bodies to screen and it's 1-1 with 2:30 remaining in the first period. Defenseman Mike Mottau got one through all those bodies, with Patrick Elias and Brian Gionta assisting. That shorthanded goal looms large now, doesn't it?
By the way, the Devils are now on their third (THIRD) power play of the first period.
