Tough tests

Women's college basketball might not have as much parity as men's, but there are some intriguing early-season showdowns this week.

On Wednesday, top-ranked Tennessee plays No. 16 West Virginia as a Thanksgiving appetizer, but the real feast comes on Thursday when No. 2 Connecticut plays No. 4 Stanford in the Paradise Jam Tournament in the Virgin Islands. Oklahoma, ranked 10th, gets its third big test of the season (the Sooners have lost to No. 1 Tennessee and No. 3 Maryland) when it plays 14th-ranked Arizona State.

On Friday, No. 12 California pays a visit to Fort Worth to take on TCU (7:30 p.m.) and on the weekend, UConn, Stanford and No. 9 Duke all play in the Paradise Jam.

That could all create some change in the rankings next Monday.

It never gets old ...

OK, so maybe the "Soulja Boy" was so last month. That doesn't mean I don't crack up every time I see a random person dancing to it. For example - Wisconsin basketball coach Bo Ryan.

Watch this video - I dare you to not to laugh. Clearly coaches will go to any extreme to get a recruit.
