Hodge going on IR, season over

Rookie linebacker Stephen Hodge's season is over. Struggling to recover from left knee surgery, Hodge will be placed on injured reserve, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed Friday night. That means Hodge is done for the season. He joins rookie linebacker Brandon Williams (knee) on IR. Rookie offensive lineman Robert Brewster (pectoral) is on PUP, meaning he can return if able later in the season.

Hodge had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee prior to training camp and was never able to recover. He continually had swelling issues and three times had to have his knee drained. After last week's game against San Francisco, Hodge was hopeful about playing against the Vikings, but he had setbacks at practice during the week.
