A few late night game thoughts
1. Tony Romo gets credit for standing up and accepting blame for his performance. It was certainly better than that "if this the worst thing that happened to me" mumbo jumbo he muttered after the Eagles game last year.
But bottom line, nobody really cares. He can't make those types of mistakes with the ball. He wasn't sacked. He didn't face an enormous amount of pressure. And he got no pressure on the three interceptions. He just played bad. He has to make better decisions.
2. It's one thing for DeMarcus Ware to not have sack in the first two games. Teams are definitely doing whatever they can to keep him off the quarterback. But where is everybody else? Where is Greg Ellis? Oh yeah,he is in Oakland. Ellis has three sacks in the first two games, more the entire Cowboys team. Anthony Spencer, his replacement in Dallas, has simply not gotten there.
3.Give the Cowboys offensive line some credit. They handled the vaunted Giants defensive line pretty well. They did not give up a sack. They opened holes for rushing attack that accounted for 251 yards on the ground, is the most since rushing for 271 yards at Philadelphia (10/31/93).
4. Roy Williams caught just one pass for 18 yards. It's surely going to bring back up all those preseason questions about whether he can be a No. 1 receiver. In fairness, he didn't get many opportunities with only four passes thrown in his direction. Don't know if all three incompletions were catchable. But Tony Romo needed to look in Williams direction more. There were times when he was open when he didn't get the ball.
5. Mentioned the running game earlier. But seriously, is there a better combination of power and speed than Marion Barber and Felix Jones? The Giants felt the wrath of the dangerous change of pace combo. Barber rushed 18 times for 124 yards while Jones rushed seven times for 96,including a 56 yard dart through the Giants defense. The Cowboys should have stayed with the run a little more, especially on Romo's final interception. They had been running at will. It was first down on the Giants 46 yard line. There was no need to go deep on a pass that intended to fourth receiver Sam Hurd. Romo said he didn't see the safety. He shouldn't have gotten that opportunity. The Cowboys should have been running the ball.

To address this team, where it's been and where it's going. I truly believe a team will show the personality of the one leading it, WADE PHILLIPS a soft, powderpuff, doughboy. There is no toughness to this team, look at SF 49ers, they play like their coach. I noticed Jimmy Johnson had showed up at Valley Ranch.... could my dreams be realized next year when Jerry finally figures out Wade is not it. Everyone wish...../dream.

So predictable... Pressure game, Romo makes catastrophic mistakes, defense falterns in crunch time. Jaworski described the Cowboys well when he called them talented but undisciplined and immature. So much talent, yet so under-achieving.

Undrafted as he is, if Romo was released tomorrow, I guarantee you that most teams would snatch him up as a starter immediately, and the rest of the teams would surely inquire about his interest in a backup job.
So whenever you see a "Romo wasn't drafted for a reason" echo, the poster exposes his/her lack of football knowledge. Even worse, the person is also a mindless drone, unable to come up with any solid analysis of their own. The best they can do is repeat word-for-word the analysis of some other ignorant football fan.

These are reasons the Cowboys lost game:
1) That disgruntled WR (TO) with all his dropped passes..Oops
2) Eldo (TO) with his distraction, pitting the defense against almighty Romo & Red Jesus (Garrett)..Oops i did it again.
3) Forcing the balls to TO in double coverage to please him...Oops I did it again didn't i?
Real reason we lost!!!
ROMO!!!! and his turnovers, every time he dropped back to pass I was scared out of my wits...the running game was too good. We should have taken the ball away from Tony and kept pounding the Giants to submission but almighty Romo would not let our defense rest with his turnovers.

The coach should of been Fired Last Year. It is the same as last year. A write off year. Scantoast and No tackle HotDog Jenkins must GOOOOOOOOONE! Along with Bummer Phillips

the play calling did not stink romo has to make better decision with the ball no professional qb should make the throws he made with no pressure. The offensive line dominated the giants which is a strengh of of the ny. The lack of pass rush puts to much pressure one the corners although they have to play better but there is no reason newman should not be able shut down average ny receivers just wait until philly comes to town

Two people to blame in no particular order... Tony Romo and Jason Garrett. If Garrett gets the coaching job when Wade is done we're in big trouble!

1st mistake: Goodell letting Jerry hand-pick the Giants as the inaugural stadium opponent. Jerry should have told the commish to let the schedule makers give them whichever team they were going to give them and his team would play them.
2nd mistake: Assuming Romo is a big-game quarterback. How many times do we have to watch him make senseless decisions with the ball in the biggest games? Maybe he can't handle the pressure.
3rd mistake (responsible for mistakes 1 & 2): Jerry's continued misguided belief that he's a real football guy/GM. Jerry should stick with what the only thing he does well footballwise -- market his team and making money. If only he'd hire a real GM who would hire a real head coach and bring in smart, play-making football players. If he continues in his stubbornly Al Daviseque ways, get ready for more years of playoff misses and losses, Cowboys fans.

Let's face it THE COWBOYS LOST!

I agree with that! But lets wake up and realize that Romo is a back up quarter back. He didnt get drafted for a reason. And the play calling was horrible.

#2. Can't agree more! The defense is still not fixed, even with the Handy Man, Mr. Fix It, taking over. No pressure, can't stop the run(TB game), get shredded by the pass(this game), when do we say it's not working? If Wade still has a job when this season is over then I just don't get it.
