Herring has not interviewed with OSU

Cowboys linebackers coach Reggie Herring said Monday afternoon he has not interviewed with Oklahoma State about its vacant defensive coordinator position.

Herring said he has not had any contact with OSU head coach Mike Gundy and the school has not requested permission to interview the Cowboys assistant. Herring just finished the first of a three-year contract with Dallas.

"I have not interviewed with Oklahoma State and I have not had contact with Mike Gundy," Herring said. "Nobody has offered me a job at Oklahoma State. It's as simple as that."

Herring did say an OSU representative made an exploratory phone call to him along with several other coaches.
