Could Cowboys be 4-5 before the bye?

The Cowboys are at a crisis stage, no doubt. They are 4-3 and in this year's NFC East there is no room for drop off. And the Cowboys face two big games against Tampa Bay (5-2) and at the NY Giants (5-1) without Tony Romo.

Facing a 4-5 record heading into the bye week before Romo returns is a real possibility the way these Cowboys are currently playing.

"You see the opportunity that's here," tight end Jason Witten said. "You defintely don't want to go into the bye week 4-5. You do have to rally behind each other. That's what the good teams do and they come out of these things."

My Hockey team (King) would kill to have the problems my Cowboys and Lakers have, yet ESPN thinks Dallas and the Lakers are struggling due to injuries to the franchise players!!!!

You guys (and Espn/NFL Network) are all crying over spilled milk....we are not dead YET!!!!! Yeah we have injuries and a suspended starting CB. So be it....there is plenty of FOOTBALL left. Lets cheer as fans not mope!!!!

At this point, I feel like a team could send out their practice squad and soundly beat us.

The 5-11 curse has returned with Dave Campo.

I agree with some of the comments about the Cowboys being in a fix. Yes the Cowboys are in trouble. The other day I was so frustrated and so mad that Tony Romo decided to not play until after the bye. Well, that's his choice, if he doesn't feel that he can execute his throws with pure accuracy and without pain then he should rest. But the pain is much deeper than Romo's busted pinkie. The whole team is in pain. The Cowboys have a lot of injuries that will definitely hurt their chances of making it at most a wild card. Their Superbowl chances pretty much fizzled when Romo, McBriar, Felix Jones, Terence Newman, Kyle Koiser, Roy Willaims (38) went down with injuries. But what team doesn't have injuries. To be successful in that category all depends on how the Boys adjust and respond to those injuries. This season is definitely hanging by the thread. There was so much promise going into the season, so much talked about talent, so much star quality or lack of (Pacman), the best team in the entire league. Please Mr. Jones, don't agree to do anymore Hard Knock Series, because I think that show is a curse and major distraction to the orgainization. Coach Phillips is too soft on the players, there is no fire from your players on the sideline, no leadership (TONY ROMO), and no urgency on fixing the wheels that are coming off and I do mean that literally. There is still hope though, remember what the Giants did last year? They finished 10-6 and went on to win the Super Bowl. So it can be accomplished, but is there still fuel left in the pride tank for the Cowboys to pull it together? At this point, I'm 50/50. The Boys just need to band together and give everything they have left in that pride tank and play some football. We'll just have to wait and see what happens over the next several weeks. Pride is going to be tested on that field. Come on COWBOYS, GO OUT THERE AND DO IT!!

13 Pro Bowlers. HA.

You all are wrong, this team could very likely finish 10-6. I think this is an obstacle to overcome that can bring this team together. While it is the goal and vision of every player and their fans, the expectation to win a Super Bowl should never be there. They only hand out one of those Lombardi trophies a year, the Cowboys do need a post season victory to live up to par. Everything is not lost, but this team does have to show some heart and pull it together. It was once said, "the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice," not that it has anything to do with the Cowboys, I just thought it would be funny to quote it. Oh yeah, "the tougher the obstacles, the sweeter the victory." That is more appropriate being the obstacles the Cowboys must climb.

turn off the lights party over. coach cupcake has the cowboys right where he wants them to be, losers, 5-11.

Only Bill Cowher can save us. Jerry open the wallet and beg.

This might be the makings of a 4-12 season folks.

If Jerry stubbornly stand behind Phillips, this team will not win again this year.

At that point, break out the BIC lighters and start burning those season tickets aka the Giant's fans in the Meadowlands during the 1979 season.

And if we really want to send a Jerry a message, stop buying stuff that says 'COWBOYS' on it. Jerry gets a percentage of the sales from royalties. Hit him in the pocket, that's all he understands. Most millionaires like Jerry are such skinflints, even if you take away a million from their 100 million dollar fortune, they cry like they lost everything.

Hit Jerry where it hurts and stop buying Cowboys junk. And burn what you have sitting in the closet. Send him a message.

I still believe we have a chance to prove the world wrong and if we end up 4-5, I believe we can be good enough to win 10 in a row after...we ARE that good...we just need to get HOT again.

Sorry about the math on my prior post, nust have used coach cupcake's math.
5 - 11 should have been the total.

This sure blows my prediction of 7 - 9 before the start of the season. Looks more like a 5 - 10 year.

A small miracle will be needed to achieve 5-4 at the bye...6-3 is virtually impossible. I see 4-5 as the most likely result. This team is in trouble and I don't think there's anyone in the position to fix it before the end of the season. A 6-10 finish is probably going to be the best they can muster.

...and 4-6 after the Redskins. This will be a year of missed opportunities.
