Austin Injured

The Cowboys are saying that receiver Miles Austin, who is having a breakout camp and preseason, injured the MCL of his right knee and is going to likely be out the rest of the preseason, and possibly the first game of the regular season, too. He's scheduled to have an MRI on the knee on Sunday.
He injured himself on the kickoff coverage team after he caught a 5-yard touchdown pass near the end of the first half.
The real killer is that Cowboys receivers coach Ray Sherman was trying to grab Austin to keep him from running onto the field for the coverage unit.

Other injury notes:
DE Chris Canty said he's fine. He bruised his hip on the first play from scrimmage and didn't play the rest of the night.
FB Deon Anderson said he's OK after he ran into official Ed Hochuli on the game's opening kickoff. He appeared woozy as he walked off the field.
FB Ronnie Cruz does indeed have a dislocated left shoulder, but he's expected not to miss any time.
LB Anthony Spencer, who has been out with a bone bruise he suffered against the Chargers last week, said there continues to be swelling in the right knee. He said he's feeling better, and that he feels this injury would prevent him from missing any of the regular season. Don't hold your breath on seeing him any time just yet.
